
Supplemental Instruction at New Mexico Highlands University
Overview
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic support program that utilizes a peer assisted study model. SI Sessions are regularly-scheduled, informal reviews in which students compare notes, discuss reading, develop organizational tools, and predict test items. The goals of SI include: Lowing attrition rates in targeted historically difficult courses, improving learning and student grades, and increasing student graduation rates.
The Center offers:
One-on-one or small group supplemental instruction
Help in any science or math course
Sessions only during center hours
